Hilary Boen joined the Ramel team in 2022 after working in municipal government for over 23 years. She started working in parks and recreation as a lifeguard and swim instructor and over the years was promoted through the ranks of Aquatic Supervisor and Recreation Manager. In 2015, Hilary was provided the opportunity to serve as the City’s project manager for the new multigenerational recreation center and shepherded the project from design through construction and then initial operations. During this time, she discovered her love of managing capital improvement projects and took on managing multiple other CIP projects for the parks and recreation department.
Hilary’s thirst for learning is evidenced by her regular enrollment in educational opportunities. She started her college years by attending Cottey College in Nevada, MO and receiving her AA and AS. Hilary then transferred to the University of Texas at Austin and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Government. She then took a position at a corporate law firm in Dallas while attending Southeastern Paralegal School at night. After determining law was not the career field for her, Hilary took a full-time position with the City of Lewisville while she worked on her Master of Science degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies. While in this program, Hilary published her thesis “ADA Compliance and Accessibility of Aquatic Facilities in the North Texas Area.”
